The International Mustang Horse Association (IMHA) is proud to announce our partnership with Teens and Oregon Mustangs for an exciting new event in 2026 — the Mustang Expo Show & Auction (MESA).

📍 Labor Day Weekend | September 4–6, 2026

📍 Linn County Fairgrounds | Albany, Oregon

MESA will replace the traditional Mustang Adoption Challenge for 2026, ushering in a bold and dynamic new format designed to elevate competition, expand opportunity, and strengthen the future of mustangs nationwide.

This will be a Teens and Oregon Mustangs weekend, featuring a Mustang-Only Horse Show hosted by IMHA as a central highlight of the event.

The IMHA Mustang-Only Show

IMHA is honored to host the Mustang-Only competition during MESA weekend. This show will serve as the culmination of the 2026 IMHA series, where we will celebrate and present our year-end series awards.

At the same time, this is a fully standalone IMHA show. Exhibitors do not need to have participated in the 2026 series to compete. Whether you’ve followed the series all year or are joining us for this one exciting weekend, you are welcome in the show pen.

This format allows us to:

  • Celebrate our dedicated series competitors

  • Welcome new exhibitors into IMHA competition

  • Showcase mustangs in a high-visibility, mustang-only environment

Special incentives will be offered for:

  • TEENS Alumni competitors

  • Oregon Mustang horses participating in the IMHA show

By bringing IMHA competition into this larger expo setting, we are creating increased visibility, expanded recognition, and meaningful growth for titled mustangs and their handlers.

A Full Mustang Experience

While the IMHA show anchors the weekend, MESA offers far more than competition alone.

🛍 The Wild Horse Trading Post

The beloved vendor marketplace returns — expanded and enhanced. Attendees can expect a vibrant western-inspired shopping experience featuring custom apparel, handcrafted jewelry, tack, art, and must-have equestrian gear. This expanded vendor area adds energy, community, and significant value for exhibitors and spectators alike.

⭐ The Titled Mustang Sale

One of the most exciting additions to MESA is the exclusive Titled Mustang Sale. Teens and Oregon Mustangs will host a curated auction featuring selected, seasoned, titled Mustangs from across the country.

This premier sale offers:

  • A rare opportunity for serious adopters

  • Increased exposure for titled mustangs

  • Expanded pathways for mustangs to find competitive and long-term homes

The inclusion of a select titled mustang auction alongside IMHA competition makes this weekend uniquely impactful — supporting both performance and placement in one setting.

Looking Ahead

MESA represents innovation during a season of transition. While federal funding remains paused pending higher-level approvals, Teens and Oregon Mustangs are moving forward with vision and determination — and IMHA is proud to stand alongside them.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to:

  • Elevating mustangs in the competitive arena

  • Expanding opportunity for youth and alumni

  • Increasing value and visibility for titled horses

  • Growing the Mustang community for the future

We encourage our membership to mark your calendars now and plan to be part of this landmark Labor Day weekend — whether you are chasing series awards, stepping into your first IMHA show, shopping the Wild Horse Trading Post, or attending the Titled Mustang Sale.

This is more than a show. It’s a celebration of mustangs — and a powerful step forward for our community.

We look forward to seeing you in March at our first show and throughout the summer, ending with the big finale in September at MESA.
