IMHA Launches Virtual Mustang Shows

One of the challenges of building a national organization is that your members often spread across the country long before your events do. Our goal is to one day have IMHA shows in every state—and beyond. Until then, we aren't content to tell our members to wait. IMHA Virtual Shows allow competitors to earn points, showcase their mustangs, and be part of our community no matter where they call home.

Every horse owner knows that showing isn't cheap. Between fuel, hotels, entry fees, meals, and time away from work, the cost of attending even a single show can add up quickly. For many mustang owners, the nearest competition may be hundreds of miles away. Virtual shows remove many of those barriers while allowing riders to continue developing their horses and competing throughout the year.

A Show Wherever You Call Home

Virtual shows aren't about replacing traditional horse shows—they're about expanding opportunity.

Whether you live in Oregon, Florida, Texas, Alaska, or Canada, you can compete from your own community while earning IMHA points and measuring your progress against riders from across North America.

As IMHA continues to grow, so will our live events. Until then, virtual shows help connect our members and give every mustang owner a chance to participate.

Designed to Be Fair and Simple

We've worked hard to create a format that's both easy to participate in and fair for every competitor.

After registering, competitors receive a confidential show packet containing class patterns, arena setup instructions, and filming guidelines. Riders perform each class at home, film the entire run in one continuous take, upload the video, and submit the link for judging within the designated submission period.

To maintain consistency, competitors use standard dressage letters, position the camera in a designated location, record with audio on, and submit unedited videos filmed in a single take.

More Opportunities for More Horses

Virtual shows create opportunities that many traditional shows simply can't.

  • Compete without spending hundreds of dollars on travel.

  • Show from an arena you're already comfortable using.

  • Introduce young or inexperienced horses to competition in a familiar environment.

  • Continue earning IMHA points even if you can't attend a live show.

  • Participate no matter where you live.

Most importantly, virtual shows encourage people to get out, ride, practice, and continue building a better partnership with their mustang.

Looking Ahead

Our vision hasn't changed. We still want to produce outstanding in-person IMHA shows across the country. In fact, we hope that one day there will be an IMHA event within driving distance of every member.

Until that day comes, IMHA Virtual Shows allow us to serve our members today instead of asking them to wait for tomorrow.
